With decades of experience in hospitality and a deep passion for exploring the world, Cynthia brings warmth, expertise, and genuine enthusiasm to every trip she designs.

For over 40 years, Cynthia has shared life’s adventures with her husband, John. The couple first made their mark as the proud owners of Windows on the Water, a highly regarded restaurant in Kennebunk, Maine. Known for its oceanfront views and exceptional dining, the restaurant was a local favorite until they sold it in 2007. After closing that chapter, Cynthia and John embraced a new kind of adventure—hitting the road in a motorhome and falling in love with the freedom of travel.

Their motorhome journeys sparked what Cynthia describes as a full-blown “travel bug.” They began exploring the U.S. and beyond, eventually developing a deep appreciation for cruising. Over the years, Cynthia and John have embarked on numerous voyages, experiencing the world from the decks of ships large and small. Among their favorite adventures are an awe-inspiring cruise to the Galápagos Islands and a breathtaking journey to Machu Picchu—two destinations that left a lasting impression and deepened their love for travel.

Now living part-time in both Palm Coast, Florida and Midcoast Maine, Cynthia draws on her own global experiences to help others discover the joys of travel. As the founder of Hughes Vacations, she specializes in cruise vacations of all kinds—from luxury ocean cruises and intimate river cruises to expedition-style adventures and family-friendly getaways.
